Beach
otherwise known as ?South Beach.? After an awful drive down from
West Palm Beach, FL early today, and some ?exercise? in the hotel
pool which consisted of some laps which wore me out, I made my way down to South
Beach for some dinner and entertainment.
Now, those of you who know me very
well, know that the ?scene? down in South Beach is not really for
me. Everyone down here either looks like they are out of some fashion magazine
photo spread, they wish they could be in some fashion magazine photo spread or
they just look like someone I might be related to. Not the best dating
potentials for me to say the least.
I got to the beach area and walked
around a bit. I went into this great music store, 80% of which was dedicated to
records not CDs but records, with all this turntables set up so you could listen
to them (I guess if you?re a DJ ?spinnin? the hottest
tracks-this would be the place for you.) I also browsed some funky fresh duds at
this vintage store with kooky old T-shirts, jeans, cammoflauge pants and even
more ?I threw this T-shirt out 10 years ago, but it?s cool again so
let me buy it again?
T-shirts.
I passed by my share of
colorful characters down Washington Ave, and Espinosa Way ? where a man
was dressed in full ancient Roman gladiator garb complete with the white gym
socks he was wearing with his sandals (they are sandals people, NO socks!)
I decided I was getting hungry and
I should start checking out a place to grab a bite to eat so I headed to Lincoln
Road Mall. It?s an open air shopping district down Lincoln Road with fun
shops, restaurants and places to enjoy gelato.

I wanted to eat at a place called
Sushi Samba which fuses Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisines but I thought
it might be too pricey ? even on an expense account. So I ate at Sushi
Siam and actually had some Thai Seafood dish which was yummy.

After
dinner, I strolled down Lincoln Road chatting with my new friend Brannon. I was
very glad he called because hearing a friendly voice on the other end of the
phone makes being alone on these business trips much more bearable. Besides
he?s a ?doll-baby,? as a friend of mine in Charlotte might
say. [In plain English, that means I think he is very good-looking - for those
keeping track at home.] Oh, look there goes a Segway:

The gay bar on Lincoln Road is
called SCORE, (don’t worry I didn’t) but their patio provided a quiet place for
me to chat on the cell phone.

I snapped a few shots with my
digital camera on my stroll and then headed back to the hotel by a different
route than the one I came because of the crazy streets down here. I’ll have to
find out what kind of tree has this kind of
flower:

I was hoping to catch Queer Eye
but alas I didn?t get Bravo in my hotel room.
I guess I?ll have to see it in
reruns.
