With a visitor from Switzerland in tow, David, Lakegan and I drove up to Chattanooga for a look around. We got there around lunch time and spent the afternoon sightseeing.
At Rib and Loin, we enjoyed some BBQ or at least I did. Here I’m pictured with the chef.

Sassy PIG

OINK - Need I say more?

After lunch we toured the Bluff View Art District

This is Martin House, 412 East Second Street. This elegantly restored Colonial Revival home, built in 1927,
features three inn rooms, our fine dining restaurant, Back Inn Café, and a gracious front porch offering views of the Bocce Court Terrace and the Tennessee River. Rooms are individually furnished with beautiful antiques complemented by traditional and contemporary fine art.

A close up of a sculpture in the garden.

The sculpture as seen from above.

I love this piece. It reminds me of an alien probe from a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode. If you need more info just ask, I actually have a specific episode in mind.

Blue Bridge

How romantic, Lakegan and Joss

Hey Mambo!

On one of the blue bridges, the blue building houses a carousel and the background is Lookout Mountain and look at the water next to the American flag.

The water in the last picture is the water from this fountain where people were cooling off from the heat.

A view of the aquarium and bridge with Lookout Mountain on the left.

Omar on the blue bridge.

No trip to Chattanooga is complete without visiting the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, which is now a Holiday Inn.

The Chattanooga Choo-Choo

The plaque

The famous Chattanooga Choo Choo Terminal Station was built in 1908. The station still stands as a testament of the golden age of railroad with its 85-foot freestanding dome, the world’s largest free-standing dome. The song, “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” which was made famous by Glen Miller in the 1940?s, became the first gold record.

While passing through the dining room I noticed the Red Hat Ladies Auxiliary enjoying a lunch.
What time is it?
It’s Choo-Choo time!!

These rail cars are actually guest rooms of the Holiday Inn, they aren’t just decoration.

The car to the right is actually room 784.
See what I mean.

Lakegan welcomes you to the Choo-Choo.

The outside of the dome structure and the Choo-Choo sign.

Let’s go to Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls.

Climbing the mountain.

We were going to take the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway complete in 1895, but someone was too scared.

The View

The view from the roof, notice the river on the left and damn satellite dish.
From the Incline Railway we walked to Point Park and this great house was along the way.

with these purple beans growing on the mailbox.

Welcome to Point Park, notice the flying eagle, I love it.

Ruby Falls was discovered in 1928 and features a 145 foot underground
waterfall.

You see about a million of these signs on the way to Chattanooga. Rock City opened in 1932.

Where do we go now?

David was tired.

Joss was kinda tired.

I was thirsty.

So we enjoyed a late afternoon desert at the Back Inn Cafe

Until next time…
