I want to extend my sincere thanks or "gracias" to everyone who has supported me during my 4 years of podcasting. Gracias to all my listeners, co-hosts, guests, interviewers, sponsors, fellow podcasters, and all who thought I was interesting enough to listen to. Thank you for enriching my life and thank you for listening to over 170 hours The Other O Show.
In August 2005, I began podcasting as an experiment in free speech. I never thought it would lead to so many positive experiences in my life. Podcasting gave me a means by which to share my thoughts, feelings and experiences. I unexpectedly became one unique voice out of many in a blossoming new media format.
Over the years, I have grown as a person and as a podcaster. Podcasting has helped me to improve my public speaking skills and I've learned to be much more comfortable "in the hot seat" because once that microphone goes live, so does the show.
I never expected to be exposed to so many interesting people either online or in-person. I never expected so many people from all over the world whether gay, lesbian, heterosexual or something else, to want to listen about me and my life. I never expected that the more I shared honest and genuine thoughts and feelings, the more people would relate to me.
Through changes in the show format to friendships and relationships to guests and co-hosts, my listeners contacted me to say they supported me at times when even some of friends didn't. To those who emailed me kind words or supportive voicemails, I say, "thank you" because there were times when I felt pretty down and those helped more than you can know.
Sometimes, I feel like my listeners know me much better than some of my friends. They know that although imperfect, I am always honest and genuine and I've learned that, in this life, that goes a long way. I've found it comforting that over the years as I've met listeners in person, that they've all been really nice people.
I began podcasting 4 years ago with no end in sight, and I always thought to myself that if I ended the show, it would be on a high note. I would never want to end this incredible experience any other way than nostalgically.
For now, this is, "Hasta Luego" but I will continue to post photos and tweets on theOtherO.com website which I've had in one form or another for 10 years. And who knows, I might post some verbal thoughts from time to time. If you'd like to make a comment, please do so on this web post.
Abrazos y Besitos,
