Dark Lord Day Redux
After yesterday's experience at the 3 Floyds Brewery with several brews, we needed to enjoy what we waited 6 hours in line for: some Dark Lord Stout!!
It's amazing and I wish I could have more soon. I'm locking up my remaining bottles for the inevitable "special occasion".

2010 Dark Lord Day
If a friend invites you to Munster, Indiana on Dark Lord Day at 3 Floyds Brewery, do yourself a favor and say, "Yes!"
They only sell Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout on one day a year, you can only buy it at the brewery and you need a "Golden Ticket" which this year was red to qualify to buy a max limit of four beers per person.
I thought we were crazy to arrive at 8:30am but when I saw about 300 people already in line, I changed my mind. More importantly when what seemed like another 500 people got in line behind us, I didn't think it was crazy at all.
I wish the designation of the "official line" was better clarified. In the end, several lines converged into a final line to buy Dark Lord. I don't think it would have been difficult to rope out the official line so anyone else entering the brewery property for the port-o-potties (which also created another perpendicular line to the "official line"), the food, other beers and to buy t-shirts didn't have to conflict with the official line.
I did score my four Dark Lord Stouts, a cool t-shirt which gives me Beer Cred and got to drink some really good craft beer.
