Oh dear Gussy! I can’t believe this! I’m so shocked!

Well if it has to happen, let me just say this: Thank you Omar for 4 years of fun and laughter. I first started listening to you when I was adjusting to life being single after a 14 year relationship. I was really depressed and didn’t know what to do with myself. Listening to your show was such a lifeline for me during that troubled time. Hearing you laughing and goofing and being just generally fun was so helpful for me, showing me that despite how I was personally feeling at that moment, it was still possible to be happy and positive, and that hopefully I’d feel that way too eventually.

It’s totally a podcasting cliche, but I do feel like you’re one of my besties, even though we’ve never spoken or met. I went on a podcasting tour last summer, visiting some of my other favorite podcasters, including the PNS Explosion and Big Fatty & Larry Vader. I wasn’t able to visit you due to family circumstances, but I hope that if I do happen to breeze into Chicago sometime that you’d still let me buy you an adult beverage or two?

Oh Lord, now I’m getting all teary and my mascara is running. *sniff sniff* I’ll stop now and just say THANK YOU again and BUENA SUERTE and please please drop us a little podcast from time to time to check in with us!

It was shortly after I moved to San Francisco, while walking to work that I first heard the other o show and I’ve been hooked ever since. I never imagined that a few years later, I would have the pleasure of meeting Omar in person and was not at all surprised that he was the same totally awesome, amazing, fabulous person I thought I knew from the podcast. Omi, I’ve so enjoyed your show and and stand in awe of how selfless you were in sharing your life and adventures with everyone. In a way, the other o show’s end, feels like the turning of an age in queer podcasting. You are a pioneer and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing a singularly unique voice to the world. All my best wishes for you and your next adventure.

your show was the FIRST podcast I ever listened to(!), and since then I haven’t been able to miss even one.
Your show, and your life, have meant so much to me over the past 4 years; whether it’s filling up 30min of my time doing data-entry, or looking thru all your cool photos of your trips, & life.
I have truly appreciated the huge amount of time and effort you put in to your show over the years, and for your candidness in sharing and exposing your life, feelings and thoughts.
Being outside the USA it’s been great to kinda feel like I have some fair-dinkum Yankee friends…. even if you are in cyberspace sooooo far away.

Haha your description of the lady at the DMV was quite accurate (= Since I had to get my license and the car registration and all that hot mess, I went to the license branch on the West side instead of downtown. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought, I got through there in about an hour! That’s taking the driving test, getting the new license, the new plate, the registration, blah blah blah, I was impressed!

I’ve pretty much given up on eating dim sum…or anything for that matter…in Chinatown. It’s so hard to determine what everything has in it, not to mention the common use of meat based broths. :/ Oh well, Chinatown is fun to visit anyway.

I love Chicago and all its public cool art like this Picasso. When we were there one October it was raining and kids were sliding down that sculpture. Someone near us acted offended that kids were using it as a big slide but I thought it was perfect. Art should be enjoyed in all ways.
