After spending way too much money on prescriptions, (I thought I had a good healthcare plan) I've started to take pills that I hope will make me feel better.

Definitive Kansas City BBQ
Although we had BBQ for lunch just the other day, I was encouraged to eat the most authentic Kansas City BBQ to be found in the city.
Arthur Bryant's Barbeque was incredible and despite feeling stuffed upon exiting, it was some of the best damn barbeque I've ever had!

Happy Gay Pride !
It's the time of year we gay folks celebrate being gay and you know I headed right on down to Piedmont Park for this year's festivities.
The question is, Can I look any more gay?
The answer: NO!

My night started with a visit to my friends James and Michah's lovely home.
While waiting for Micah, James showed me how to create one of his favorite drinks, a Pom-Margarita!

Quilts of Gee’s Bend at HIGH Museum
My friends David and Patrick treated me to an afternoon at the HIGH Museum of Art.
There is an exhibit there of quilts made by women in Gee's Bend, AL which was very interesting to see.

Dinner at the Cowtipper’s
I met a group at Cowtipper's for dinner last night.
It was as dark as a cave in the corner where we sat and my seat was most uncomfortable, but we all had a good time laughing and carrying on with our server Lynn.

Weeklong Business Trip
Everyone thinks that traveling for business is cool, and yes it has it's benefits sometimes. It also keeps you away from the people you care about, back at home.
These are some random pics of this trip over the past few days.

Pensacola Pier – AFTER the Memorial Day Festivities
Today, I was in Pensacola, Florida. If I would have been there a fews days earlier, I would have been surrounded by countless homosexuals all carrying on and having a wild time which would have been fabulous.
I suppose that's the difference between personal and business travel - with one you get to pick the dates!
Here's the Pier:

A Hot, Hazy day in Orlando
It's Florida, isn't it always supposed to be sunny and blue skies here? Well, when it's not thunder-storming. It's been hazy here since I arrived and it's been about 90 degrees.
One very nice thing about being down here is that for the first time in a very long time, I had a 5 minute commute to the client's office today despite having been thwarted by a passing train.
Coffee with Auntie lisa
We had coffee so Emma and Olivia could say, "See you later" to Auntie lisa.

Drive Back to Atlanta
Despite it taking 5 hours to get TO Huntsville, AL somehow it only took my 3.5 hours to return.
It was a beautiful day and I snapped a few photos on the way back.
I love computers and technology but I have to say that there is nothing more beautiful than the great outdoors. Maybe I just haven't been outside in a while but these "wide open spaces" were touching me profoundly on the drive back to Atlanta.
[perhaps I'm just so used to sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic...]

Pensacola Pelican
I was in Pensacola, Florida today. The weather was nice and everything went well.
When I arrived at the airport for my return flight to Atlanta, this pelican greeted me.
Now as you can see, he's quite a celebrity with all those dividers keeping all the undesirables out but he was nice enough to let me take this photo before his people saw him to his limousine.
Sunday Afternoon Bars with David
My friend David told me the gay rugby team was washing cars with their shirts off at Burkharts and I jumped in mine to head over to Burkharts.

Eric and Mike happen to have the same

much.
Besides enjoying my

Annabelle LaRue Jenkins is born!
Tonight, my half-sister AnnaBelle LaRue Jenkins was born. Her birth coincided with
Pinkie Jenkins' birthday and also Velma Jenkins' birthday and from what I hear, she had an incredible time!
First of all, a tremendous thank you and an even bigger GRACIAS goes to the Jenkins Clan for everything they did to make this night possible for AnnaBelle LaRue Jenkins.
They were helpful, professional, bawdy, twisted and fiercely funny during the whole event.
So, many thanks from Omar, AnnaBelle LaRue Jenkins' half-brother. Muah!

Now for lunch and shopping we visited The Plaza district.
Having celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1997,
The Plaza is the oldest shopping center in the country and attracts 10 million tourists each year.
Along with some of the country's chic-est fashions and major labels,
shoppers will find true Kansas City originals.
Modeled after Seville, Spain, one of Kansas City's sister cities, the area features magnificent Spanish tile, piazzas, and terra cotta rooftops. The Plaza also did more than its share to earn Kansas City the title "City of Fountains." Perched on nearly every corner, each fountain is steeped in history and has its own story to tell.

After shopping, a group of us went to see Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Later that night, I noticed there was fire emanating from a large bowl atop the memorial.
Time for Dinner.
Rosedale's - where we didn't eat.
And Jack Stack - where we did enjoy a great meal albeit quite late in the evening.

Jim and Maria’s Rehearsal Dinner
After arriving in Kansas City, getting to the hotel, attending the rehearsal at the church, we made it to Salvatore's Italian restaurant.
And let's just get one thing squared away right now. Smiley and Jim are one and the same. For going on 15 years that's what I've called him, so it's hard to all of a sudden call him Jim now. When his mom would call our apartment in college and ask for Jim, I'd say she had the wrong number and hang up on her. Of course, I would never do that now, but I digress so here we go:
Randy’s Graduation Party
Tonight I helped celebrate our friend Randy's graduation from Law School.

Post Graduation Day
Thankfully, I was able to get almost 8 hours of sleep and woke up to lots of family in the house, coffee, food and
conversation. Although everyone was returning home today, we managed to enjoy some food, of course, and fun before the day was out.
My brother Edel, finally appeared after a deep sea fishing trip with friends - I think it's amusing that

Hector’s Graduation Day
Today my youngest brother Hector graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
We had to get up VERY early in the morning to be able to get to the graduation ceremonies in Daytona Beach, FL.
Graduations are always a very big deal in my family. Since there were more important things to do in Cuba at the time - like survive - I'm a part of the first generation in my family to go to college.
The fruit of our parents' sacrifices become tangible in graduations that can be celebrated.
Much to our dismay, however, Hector's graduation was held under the relentless Florida sun that baked us all during what would later become the first of the two graduation ceremonies.
Valentine’s Day Thoughts

This day is a yet another reminder that yet another year has passed without a significant romantic relationship in my life. A friend recently read my website and remarked, "I am astounded by your availability" - well you know what, so am I. Every year about this time, I contemplate past relationships, why they didn't work out, what I could have done
differently but I always end with the same conclusion: I'm glad I'm still NOT in those relationships and I'm glad I learned the lessons I did. Every time someone in a relationship asks me, "Are you seeing anyone?" I feel surge of disappointment, regret and sadness. And then when the inevitable answer, "No, no one special" is given, it's always, "Well, you'll meet someone soon" or something to that effect. What it sounds like is, "Cheer up Jan, you'll make the team next year." Why is that people both hetero and homo always feel the need to ask if you're in a relationship when they are? I've been single for a grand majority of my life so if I've actually made it to the 2nd date - TRUST ME, everyone would know.
One part of me feels like I've got so much to offer a partner in a relationship. I feel like some really great years of my life are passing me by without having anyone to share my experiences within a romantic rather than platonic setting. And I certainly don't need a
national holiday to remind me that I don't have someone and yet for some reason
millions of other people do. However, another part of me is grateful I am
capable of surviving on my own and forging my path through life almost
single-handedly despite the many obstacles I've faced.
When one thinks about Valentine's
Day, no one really thinks about a priest performing marriages against the order
of Claudius II in 270 BCE when sending their little cards, flowers or
chocolates these days. Claudius II thought bachelors made better soldiers - no
one to pine for while fighting, but Valentine continued to perform secret
marriage ceremonies until he was apprehended by the Romans and put to death.
Another legend has it that Valentine, imprisoned by Claudius, fell in love with
the daughter of his jailer. But before he was executed, he allegedly sent her a
letter signed "from your Valentine." [Taken from InfoPlease.com]
My friend Lisa used to feel the
same way I do but she had a change of heart when a friend told her that
ridiculous as Valentine's Day gets, it is a way to tell people in your life that
you love them. So every Valentine's Day she sends cards to all the people that
she loves stating to them how much she cares about them and why. It's actually
the best way to deal with this 2nd most commercial
holiday.
The older I get, and let's
face it one only starts talking like that, the older we get, I feel more and
more comfortable with myself, in my own skin and with the person I've become. I
would never want someone to "complete me" as I am a whole and complete person as
I stand today. However, do I wish to be in a relationship with a great guy? -
you bet! And am I bitter about not having a Valentine again this year?
absolutely!
La Mala Educación (Bad Education)
Tonight, I saw a very entertaining and unique film by my favorite director:
Pedro Almodóvar.
His new film in called La Mala Educación and known here in the US by the name Bad Education.
This is the movie poster:
After seeing this movie, I agree completely with this review by Kevin Howell from New York City.
"...It's Almodovar's meatiest and most complex script in years. Although you may be confused early on as you're trying to figure out whats going on, its all revealed later and very satisfyingly. Gael Garcia Bernal is outstanding in his multi-dimensional, multi-character performance. Alberto Iglesia's music is wonderful--a homage to Bernard Herrmann.
The film is rated NC-17, which has more to do with the MPAA Board's homophobia than anything else. Sure, its a sexy drama with elements adult plotpoints, but had the sex scenes in this film been between a man and a woman, rather than two men, this would have easily gotten an R rating. All of the sex scenes are artfully filmed (there is no frontal nudity) and even the subplot concerning a pedophile priest is handled with care."
2005 Sales Summit Cruise to Bahamas
I just returned from a cruise to the Bahamas whose main purpose was a business meeting. It's amazing how much time you have for business meetings when you're a captive audience on a floating hotel. We had quite a busy schedule but you know I made time to have some fun.

On Thursday night, there was so much wind on deck at a reception that everyone was wind blown.

Alexander’s Baptism
I'm a godfather - that's right, I know it's hard to believe, but I'm a godfather. My cousin's only son, Alexander is now my godson. It is a special honor that I take seriously, not for any religious reason because I would have never done it for one of those, but because my cousin Jane has always been a great person, a great example and it's a way for me to honor her and her family.
Alexander did have a bit of a fever in the morning and wasn't feeling very good. His personality is very pleasant usually.

Shopping and Nightlife
We haven't done much today. We were all up quite late. We watched the Kerry-Bush debate Anna recorded on her DVR.
We've eaten breakfast but now Anne is snoozing on the sofa, Anna is on the phone and I'm typing this account of my weekend so far. Hopefully we'll get it in gear and go out and do something soon.
Weekend in Washington DC
I'm sitting here listening to The Smith's Hatful of Hollow and recalling my weekend in Washington DC with my friends Anna and Anne.
Here we go...
Friday, October 8, 2004
I'm in our country's capital this Columbus Day weekend. My friend Anne flew in from Charlotte and I flew in from Atlanta to meet up with our friend Anna who lives in Fairfax, VA.
I love DC for there is a palpable feeling of patriotism and civic pride when you're here. Today we went to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. I ordered tickets in advance which did seem to make entry easier. There was quite a security line, so if you go, be prepared to wait, even if you have tickets. Now we didn't plan very well. It's about a 10 minute drive from Anna's place to the Vienna/Fairfax Metrotrain station. Then, it's about a half hour ride to the Smithsonian station near the museum.

We got there just after 11am without having eating breakfast. After 4pm when we emerged from the museum we were not only emotionally but physically drained as well. The Holocaust Museum is an
extremely moving and powerful place. It recalls the events of that atrocity, with incredible detail and honestly. It successfully maintains the dignity of those Jews, Romas (Gypsies) and homosexuals who's basic human rights were wrongly and violently stripped from them.

There were a couple of events during that time which I was unaware of. First the voyage of the St. Louis, which was a ship whose purpose was to transport jews from Europe to Cuba and
safety from Hitler.
Unknown to the jews on that trip, their destination visas were denied before they left Europe. Ultimately they were returned to Eurpoe after being denied to dock in Cuba and the US.
I knew about homosexuals being held in camps alongside Jews but I didn't know the number was over 10,000 and 90% of the homosexuals imprisoned were men. They were identified with a pink
triangle which is why an upside-down pink triangle is now a symbol of gay pride.
And, unlike the Jews, the homosexuals were kept in prison after liberation. In fact, Hitler's awful laws kept persecuting homosexuals until 1969 in Germany. There are so many artifacts and historical pieces which make the permanent exhibit so powerful. I won't go into more detail about the sections of the exhibit because I think everyone needs to visit this place at least once to know what really happened.
I couldn't avoid being overwhelmed several times by what I saw. Tears ran down my face on more than one occasion out of sheer reaction to the images and situations presented. And all
of the exhibit is presented so tastefully and devoid of political propaganda.
We were hungry and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. We decided to grab a sandwich at the subway in the Museum of Natural History so we could do more sightseeing. This sculpture was outside.
This is the flag draped over the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
I actually forget what building this is.
Here I am with one of my favorite monuments.
They may be prohibited now, but we'll get to the drinking part later.
After the Holocaust we walked past the Washington Monument and the White House. We made our way to the World War II
memorial which is brand new and is situated between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
If you look closely you can see Anne and Anna chatting just under where the Capital building is seen.
The veterans seen below were discussing their experiences in the war.
Winner for best hair of the day goes to...
Then we went to the Vietnam Memorial. I've known about it but had never seen it. There is something about seeing all those names on that dark wall for yourself and knowing each one represents someone who was killed that gives you a chill.
The Lincoln Memorial is also another place of great impact. It majestically stands on that hill. After you climb up all those steps, and standing before the larger than life seated Lincoln: it makes one feel insignificant and childlike in the face of freedom. Then turning around and seeing those giant columns andlooking out onto the reflecting pond, the WWII memorial, the Washington Monument and the Capital in the background is
all quite a sight to behold. The weather has been incredible. It's been in the 70s during the day and the low 60s at night with not a cloud in the sky - lovely.
Planes flying into Ronald Reagan National Airport fly REALLY, REALLY close to all the monuments.
From the Lincoln Memorial we visited the Korean War Memorial which was eerie. The ghostly figures are haunting.
The image below is of the wall in the picture above. The flash reflected the skyline behind me and produced this
great image.
There are some unique squirrels running around here. We saw white ones but only one black one.

I had to take advantage of the great light and the time on the camera.
I have yet to actually see the Jefferson Memorial up close but I did snap a few pics of it.

After getting home we had to all take showers and get ready to go back in the city to check out the nightlife.
We wanted to take some pictures while we still looking good.
We made it to Dupont Circle and ate a Japanese restaurant called Raku. It featured Asian tapas and was very tasty. I had a passionfruit limeade drink with citrus vodka which was heaven.
We then went to a bar that Anne had been to the last time she was in DC and struck up a conversation with these nice straight guys, Craig and Steve.

After a couple of drinks there they directed us to a very gay bar called JRs. It was there I met a very nice 'bloke' named Ian who was in DC on business. It's always great to meet cute, down-to-earth guys, I just wish I could meet more that live on the same continent I do. Anyway, it was a pleasure to have crossed paths with him and who knows I might see again sooner than I think. Life is funny that way.
I love this picture of Anna and Anne - looking good girls!
Chattanooga Daytrippers
With a visitor from Switzerland in tow, David, Lakegan and I drove up to Chattanooga for a look around. We got there around lunch time and spent the afternoon sightseeing.
Brunch, City Tavern & The Drive Back to Atlanta
Anne, Maureen and I had brunch at Pike's near the Camden Square area of Charlotte.
They had a great brunch buffet but they didn't have mimosas!
What did we do? We went to City Tavern.

My Favorite Cartoon: Gatchaman or G-Force
Growing up a 'Latch-Key Kid' in Orlando, FL, my brothers and I spent a great deal of time watching TV.
And, not unlike many other kids our age, we watched a lot and I mean A LOT of TV. One of the my
all-time favorite cartoons was G-Force or as it is known in Japan, Gatchaman. Of
course, none of us here had ever heard of Gatchaman growing up, we only knew it
as G-Force or Battle of the Planets.

There is a great site call Jib Jab with a pretty funny video I'd like share with you. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, I think you will enjoy this short little video.

Happy 4th of July 2004
Click here for the 4th of July 2004 pics.
I visited my friend Anne in Charlotte for this holiday weekend. I've known Anne since 9th grade so needless to say we've got our own long-running jokes and memories that still make us laugh uncontrollably.
Friday night Anne went from being our DD (Designated Driver) to being our FDD (You'll have to ask her what that stands for.) Saturday, we went to Einstein Bros Bagels, had some coffee, and recapped the evening's events. We also saw Fahrenheit 9/11 and I have to say that I'm really glad that movie is out so people can know about some things before November 2nd. We went to see Anne's roommate, Al, in a local production of a play about Lenny Bruce in which he recounted Bruce's life from Lenny's perspective in the afterlife. It was a monologue, and Al was genuine, evocative and believable as Lenny Bruce - I'm so glad I attended.Later we went to Thomas Street Tavern and I got to enjoy a few cold Guinnesses.
Sunday, Anne went for a 10 mile run while I slept in. Then I took Rio to the dog park with Jennifer and he got very dirty but did get to play with some other dogs. Like an idiot I put some dog treats in the pocket in my shorts - bad idea. All these days were attacking me attempting to get the treats. I think I actually got more dirty than Rio but I'm glad he got some exercise. After a quick stop at Dikadee's Deli so I could get a sandwich, we were off to Maureen's pool. It was nice to catch some sun, swim in a nice pool and watch the really sexy guys drinking on the other side of the pool.As you can see from the pictures, we saw some fireworks from downtown Charlotte, although they were about 45 minutes late getting started. It was after the fireworks that we went to Ri-Ra's Irish Pub.
Monday, July 5th was music day. Anne has an Mp3 player but waits until I'm in town to load music on it. So we were off to the Caribou Coffee at 1531 East Blvd., enjoyed a latte, wirelessly cruised the web and ripped some tunes for Anne and Maureen's Mp3 players. This was topped off by a visit to Brixx Pizzafor lunch at 3.30pm. I had the usual Brixx Salad and a pizza. This time I opted for the Barbecue Pizza instead of the usual Spicy Shrimp. I just love that place.
2004 Atlanta Gay Pride Celebration
I tried to take as many pictures as possible but my camera's batteries died before the parade ended. And before it started POURING down raining -- not that it stopped the celebrations!
Check out all the parade pics by clicking here.

Grafton on Sunset Blvd in LA
I went to LA on business and stayed at The Grafton on Sunset.
I had a poolside room near this relaxing waterfall.

This is the view from the purple lounger on the far right in the picture above.
Of course there were all these great black and white photographs everywhere like this one of
Rita Hayworth in my room.

Sunday morning chillin’
This morning I woke up before 9am and have been playing around on the laptop all morning.
While quietly working, I looked on my patio rail and saw a new friend there.
It's been nice to have a quiet morning with Yerba Mate which I made into a Yerba Mate Latte - yum.
I guess I'll go outside and enjoy this beautiful sunny day.
WH Auden
W. H. Auden has been one of
my favorite poets since the move, Four Weddings and a Funeral. The excerpt that
John Hannah read during the funeral was so moving to me, I had to find out more
about the person that wrote it. The first section below is what was read in the
movie but the second section he details his love for John.
Guinness
I've been drinking Guinness for a while now. It's my favorite beer. I've got to say I think the closest thing to Guinness on tap is Guinness from the can. It's the only beer I'll drink out of a can and it's the only one with a contraption inside that mimics the pour on draught.
Bowling Event
Boys, Balls & Booze Bowling
My friend Lakegan thought it would be a good idea to have monthly events where
we could round up a bunch of fun-loving guys and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
This bowling night was our March event. Everyone had a great time despite our scores.
Oh yeah, and there plenty of comments about balls - the bowling kind.

Atlanta Bucks Fundraiser
We went out to support the rugby team and of course check the boys on the team.
Most of these jocks are gay so it's OK to stare.
We bought tickets for the raffle from my friend John.
LA Trip
Trip to Los Angeles, CA for Omar's West Coast debut.
Check out the pics by clicking here.
I went out to LA for work but decided to stay out for an extra day and explore
West Hollywood and the Malibu. I got a chance to experience West Hollywood,
The Getty Center, the oddities at Venice Beach and the beauty of Malibu.
The Broken Hearts Club
The Broken Hearts Club
is another favorite of mine, it really spoke to me when it was released and it was refreshing to actually be able to relate to characters on the screen.
The Mod Squad
Softballs, Hard Batts, and Cold Beer Bust. This beer bust benefitted the Hotlanta Sharks
and Stingrays which are gay softball teams. They were recruiting but we of
course were checking out the team.
My friend Matt, (me) and Lakegan were there and ready to have a good time.

We met a great guy named Jon.
We met some other new friends that night as well.

31st Birthday
I turned 31 today and 'things just keep getting better'!
Although I was at a conference with my boss, it was a great birthday. I love my
job, I love my boss and I got to enjoy a great dinner!
Below is Sandy wishing me a happy birthday.

My friend Lisa joined us for dinner, too.
Sandy, me, Tana and Mark.
Cool Clouds
Emma and Oscar
My good friend Sanjay and Jodi have a wonderful little girl named Emma
who we got to visit with this month. Below she's enjoying the cream cheese
more than her bagel.

Auntie Lisa with Emma
Lee hosted an Oscar party at his condo where he made Margaritas.

And we all know that CG loves him some Margaritas.

And to my very big surprise he made this great birthday cake for me.
I met Lee about this time last year and I'm so glad he's in my life.
TNG: One of my favs
Star Trek: The Next Generation is by far one of my favorite sci-fi series. I have several seasons on DVD and am always willing to watch re-runs on Spike TV. I know I've seen every episode of the 7 seasons but they are so good that's is usually good for a political statement or just a laugh.
I don't go to conventions or anything but if I were to go to Las Vegas you can be I'd go to the Hilton and get assimilated by the Borg.
Tana’s Shower
My coworker Tana has been so helpful in getting me settled and up to speed
with my relatively new job. It was so much fun to help make this shower a surprise for her.
We had our conference call so our cross-country team could be in on her surprise at the same time.

I had the task of photographing it so the rest of the team could later see the
expression on her face when she saw what they'd gotten her.
The Lord of the Rings
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for the Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
I have hairy feet and when I was in high school some guys said I had hobbit feet.
I never really knew what that meant until "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" was released.
It was then that I was offended and hungry to know what happened to the ring.
My friend lisa bought me the definitive LOTR book for xmas 2002. It is the most complete and accurate version of the novel by J. R. R. Tolkien. "
The Lord of the Rings is often erroneously called a trilogy, when it is in fact a single novel, consisting of six books plus appendices, published for convenience in three volumes."
Netflix
If you like to watch movies but don't like to wait in lines at the Blockbuster or worry about late fees then you should look into Netflix.
I've been a member since January of 2002, and it's been great. They have a great selection of all types of movies including gay/lesbian flicks that not all blockbusters carry.
Down With Love

Down With Love is another favorite of mine.
It is a great modern celebration of the classic "Pillow Talk" type movies that Rock Hudson and Doris Day made.
Frank Herbert’s DUNE
Another Sci-fi series I really enjoy is DUNE,

I've seen the original DUNE with Sting release in 1984 but the series the Sci-Fi channel produced was great. I have the entire DUNE mini-series including Children of Dune on DVD.
I usually get so into it that I have to watch all 5 DVDs!
2004 Summit
2004 Sales Summit is a company meeting I attended. The theme was It's about U,
but I think Jamie just wanted to fit in because his shirt matched the painting in the
hospitality suite almost perfectly.

We stayed at a golf resort, that was nice in the morning.

It was great to see the team in person.
The Gala at the end of all the seminars was a great time. There is nothing like
having a beer with the boss.

Mobile, AL Visit
In Mobile, AL for work and met up with some fraternity brothers.
Overall, I had a great college experience. I got a degree and made some lasting friendships.
This work trip to Mobile, allowed me the opportunity to catch up with some brothers
I hadn't seen in quite a while.
Tim, my fraternity brother and coworker and I had lunch with Jason.
(Jason, (me) and Tim)
When you look around the restaurant, there are all these things on the walls.
From garden implements to whiskey bottles.

Tim and I also got to hang out with Travis and Kevin, seen below.
Now, believe it or not, the photo below is what is left of the apartment complex
I lived in for 3 years while in college. Mirror Lake was so bad, it was condemned
and burned by the local fire dept in an exercise. Just behind where I'm pointing is
where my apartment used to be.

January 2004 Wrap Up
The started with a the realization that I've lived in the same apartment for an
entire year and needed to buy a sofa. I met some great guys in January and
kicked the year off to great start.
Taz introduced me to Curtis and John, seen below.
I bought a sofa in January and finally began life without a futon.
My longtime friend Anne gave me the OK to buy it.
>I met my friend Matt in January.
AND, I also met Eric who continues to make me laugh every time I see him.

Rio in the Park
Lee and I have had some great times with our little dog, Rio who is almost a year old.
He was a stray in Alabama and it hastaken a lot of love and puppy chow for him to be
comfortable in his new life in Atlanta. Today we went out to the park and played around
with our favorite dog.
Check out the complete photo gallery by clicking here.
See how much he loves his Papi!

The Color Purple
The Color Purple is one of my favorite movies of all time.
I simply had to buy the newly digitized double DVD version. Mainly because the VHS copy I have is worn out through the table scene!
